Outdoor Creativity Gathering by Sketchbook Club Avl
Every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month artist Spencer Beals puts together Sketchbook Club at Foundation Studios in the River Arts District. At the end of May he planned the 1st Sketchbook Club creative outdoor gathering in the woods of the beautiful Pisgah National Forest and we even got to learn from Jeremy (@Jere_cro) and his wife Amanda (@buckeyeandbeebalm) about edible medicinal plants around us and how to make cordage out of a Tulip Poplar trunk that fell near our campsite. We also had artist @plantdaddylafleur who is also a really good cook be our personal chef throughout the trip. He made sure our bellies were continuously filled with joy and he KILLED it, y’all missed out. For me this trip happened at the perfect moment in my life when I needed grounding, time to really connect with nature and be around creativity. This was the perfect experience to share with artists who are now friends and learned something together. If you’re interested in attending the next one or sketchbook make sure you follow @beals.art for more info. If you’re local come hang out at Sketchbook Club and the after Arty! Curious to know what it was like? Check out the photos I took through out the trip, there are ALOT. Like over 100. Sorry not sorry.
